One of the things I have learned in my old age is how to avoid people with negative energy and bad behavior (for the most part) and the need to confront people who bring a lot of drama. Rather than engage with them, I distance myself from the situation emotionally and physically.

In my head I say, you did what you wanted to do, and I chose to step aside and let you be. I don’t feel the need to respond or deal with negative people.

Basically, it’s a way of expressing that I have chosen peace over confrontation or drama.

Anyhow, the Bible tells us, “if it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone (Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬‬).
