My daughter asked me if there were anything I wanted for myself now that I am diagnosed with cancer; I told her courage and grace.
My reason is, since I know that I am about to enter into the storm of my life, I should be prepared. It’s like, if you know it’s about to rain or snow outside, you would grab your umbrella and boots before leaving the house. The same thing goes for my situation. I need to be prepared mentally for WHATEVER! comes my way and prepared to deal with it.
The dictionary defines courage as the ability to do something that frightens one and the courage to face an ordeal that is ahead .
I am truly thankful for all the years spent alone with God, it has definitely prepared me spiritually for what I am about to go through.
The Bible tells us in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
I believe God, so I am praying for courage that I may have the strength needed for the battle ahead.
