Covid-19 Sucks!
It’s been a long year! but it looks like we are starting to see signs of the Coronavirus and this pandemic ending; and I cannot wait. My children constantly tease me saying that I am paranoid and living in fear (I laugh at them secretly). Humph! I wear my mask whenever they are around me and don’t care what they think either. I also, don’t allow people to visit me, nor do I go out much either. Yeah! sure, I want to go out to dinner and hang out, but I’m not trying to get sick, especially when all I have to do is sit still and wait for the world to right itself. I have asthma and other underlying health issues and I get sick at the drop of a hat over anything. With that being said, I will wait on the Lord to tell me when it is safe to go out.
Moreover, I am so, so, upset! my son, my oldest baby, was recently diagnosed with Covid-19. He told me he was wearing his mask, but I don’t know if he was consistently wearing it. One of the worst feelings I have ever had, as a mother, was not being able to nurse him back to health, MYSELF.
Anyhow, my son happened to be visiting a friend when he started feeling the symptoms of Covid. I naturally wanted to take care of him, but I knew it wasn’t a smart idea with my health issues. Thankfully his friend said they would take care of him. That was a huge sacrifice on their part, because my son would have had to stay in a hotel. I prayed everyday to keep my son and his friend safe.
I had to fall back on my belief in Jesus and His promises to combat the fear and worry that my body felt. For some reason, I couldn’t get my body to fall into submission with what my head already knew. I knew that know matter what! God was in control of the situation and that there was no need to worry either way; but my body was betraying me. A few of the Bible scriptures that I read to get me back on track were, Psalm 56:3 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Psalm 55:22 “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.” Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
I thank God for His Word. And for the peace I finally felt.
