You would think with me being a mature Christian I would recognize being tested by the enemy; but nope! not when my prayer life is off or when I’m not focused on my Bible studies. In fact, when I’m not prayed up, I hardly recognize an attack right away; I know Satan is happy about that too.
The fact is, the enemy studies us. He never sleeps, he is always on his job. His job is to devour us and to stop us from reaching our full potential. The enemy will have you doubting yourself, have you confused, double minded and afraid. It doesn’t matter who you are. Heck! I know the Word of God and he still tries me.
The thing is this, if and when I find myself acting out, I know who to reach out to. I call on my Father in Heaven, I know He always hears me and will help me. I also, reach out to my prayer warrior Sisters-in-Christ, these sisters know how to pray strongholds down.
Moreover, it is very easy to become distracted. The Bible tells us in, 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.“
“We must never forget that we are in a spiritual war with an enemy who is looking for weaknesses. We should never give him a foothold. Regardless of how well things may seem to be going for us, we must always keep our hearts and minds, focused on Christ, obedient to His commands and faithful to His purposes.” (Charles Stanley Bible, p. 1492).
Brothers and Sisters, we are not perfect people and never will be. We are all subject to sin and the lies of the enemy. The thing is, we must be on guard and learn how to protect ourselves. Know how to praise God in spite of what we see or may feel. Amen!
